Anugerah Inovasi Naib Canselor (AINC)

The award gives recognition to members of the Faculty / Centre / Institute / Section / Unit UNIMAS by taking into account the overall performance in terms of quality. Overall achievement will consider the excellence of overall activities and operation of a Faculty / Centre / Institute / Section / Unit. This includes the aspects of leadership, management effectiveness and efficiency, and cost effectiveness as well as aspects related to the results or achievements of the practice of Total Quality Management (TQM). Implementation AINC is part of the main activities in UNIMAS, as an effort to cultivate quality UNIMAS towards becoming an excellent organization.

Objectives:

  • to promote and raise awareness of quality in the public sector
  • to give formal recognition to all department in UNIMAS that have shown a deep understanding of management and quality improvement, and who have achieved high levels of quality leadership
  • to publish about successful quality of strategies
  • to promoting a healthy competition between deparment in UNIMAS towards improving quality management practices.
  • to provide benefit to department  by assessing the level of excellence in their respective department, and to identify its strengths, weaknesses and recommendations for improving their service delivery system.

Anugerah Inovasi Perkhidmatan Awam Negeri Sarawak (AIPANS)

AIPANS will be implemented in 2011.The purpose of this award was to give recognition and appreciation from the State Government to the agencies that have achieved outstanding performance in quality improvement efforts on the organization. The award is organized by State Government.

MQA Rating System for Malaysian Higher Education Institutions (SETARA 09)

The MQA Rating System for Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia for 2009 (SETARA ’09) is a mechanism implemented to measure the institutional level quality of teaching and learning of undergraduate programs. This rating exercise is a continuation of the previous exercise of SETARA 2007 with several major differences to its focus, composition of the universities and university colleges; its domain and measuring domains and measuring indicators.

SETARA ’09 used a total of 25 criteria captured through 82 indicators comprising the generic framework of Input, Process and Output. In general SETARA’09 Assessment comprises of the followings:

  1. INPUT (20%)
    • Talent (5%)
    • Resources(3%)
    • Governance (12%)
  2. Process (40%)
    • Curriculum (40%)
  3. Output (40%)
    • Quality of Graduates (40%)

The final analysis was sourced out from the institutions as well as the Academic Performance Audit (APA), the Generic Student Attributes (GSA) test score, the Tracer Study, and the Employer Survey. The rating system uses a six-tier category as Tier 1 (Weak), Tier 2 (Satisfactory), Tier 3 (Good), Tier 4 (Very Good), Tier 5 (Excellent) and Tier 6 (Outstanding)
